Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN, working as an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta was bilingual from when she was nine years old. The ability that allowed her to get her first position as an Univision Production Assistant in Miami. In Miami, she worked with the producers of national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was a Sports Reporter at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. She moved in 2009 from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an investigative reporter for the Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on drug trafficking and immigration from both sides of the Mexico-Texas Border, she worked as an anchor for KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 from 5 pm. She was as a reporter for news on English until 9pm, the news anchor was on until 10pm, before returning back to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. Also, she was often requested to fill in as anchors for the weather and sports. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. The show was made a anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In the same capacity she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved into Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She also has an older sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. In the course of a few months, her father separated from her mother and she later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in 2006. In June of the year 2006, Antonietta spent a week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school, but she had a very clear vision of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University in order to determine if they suited her. At the end of the day she was enthralled with the school. The university offered her major. She completed her schooling and was accepted to the University as a major of media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of the WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed over the years, became an acquaintance. He inspired her to be self-confident and his passion in journalism was a huge influence on her, and she in turn, strived to live up to his standards and never failed him.
